What are steps?
STEP exam is aimed at applicants majoring in mathematics, and the style and level of these questions are similar to those of undergraduate course.
STEP exam will be held at the end of 13, which can be used as part of the admission conditions for undergraduate students.
STEP is mainly adopted by Cambridge University and Warwick University, but some universities require or encourage students to take the STEP exam as part of their provision:
Imperial College London (If you miss the deadline, you need to do something)
KCL (If there is only AS mathematics without A-level mathematics, you need to take the first step)
UCL
university of bath
lancaster university
University of Bristol
Southampton University
What you need to note is that the requirements for college entrance may be different every year, and the application needs to be subject to specific confirmation. An interesting fact is that most STEP candidates are required by the school, and some students simply take the STEP exam to "challenge themselves".
What does the STEP test paper cover?
STEP exam has three sets of papers, but don't be nervous yet. You may not need to bring all three sets of papers. . . The university will tell you which one their offer will let you take. If you are not sure, you can contact the admissions office directly to confirm. Each set of papers takes 3 hours, including 1 1 or 12 questions, but you don't have to answer all of them. In fact, you only need to answer six questions. In other words, there are no restrictions on the number of answers and specific questions, and at least six questions can be completed. The exam is divided into the following parts:
Step 1 The topic is based on A-Level mathematics, one * * 1 topic, eight pure numbers, two mechanics,1probability.
Exam sample questions:
The theme of the second step is based on A-level mathematics and AS-level further? Mathematics, a *** 12 problem, 8 pure numbers, 2 mechanics, 2 probabilities.
Exam sample questions:
The theme of the third step is based on A-Level mathematics and A-Level further? Mathematics, a *** 12 problem, 8 pure numbers, 2 mechanics, 2 probabilities.
Exam sample questions:
The examination involves a wide range of formulas, including:
Algebraic sum function
trigonometry
Exponent and logarithm
distinguish
vectors
Quantities and units in mechanics
kinesiology
Force and Newton's law
Probability and so on
Everyone should pay attention to the fact that the formula table is no longer provided in the STAP exam, and these formulas should be kept in mind. Like regular exams, step exams can bring rulers, protractors and compasses, but calculators are not allowed.
How to grade the step exam?
The score of each question is 20 points, and sometimes even if the final answer is incorrect or there is not enough time to write the final answer, the process will be scored. Step test scores are divided into five grades:
S- outstanding
1- Very good
2- Very good
3- Satisfactory
U- unclassified universities will tell you what level of STEP scores they need to enter.
How to take the STEP exam?
The STEP exam needs to be taken in an accredited test center, and the following information should be provided when registering:
name
birthday
gender
UCAS
University, course, course number
After successful registration, you will receive a candidate number to confirm your successful registration.
How much is the registration fee for each set of papers in STEP international student standard before the deadline of may? 92。 Will the demand for registration increase after that? The cost of 42.
Not only do you have to pay for the exam, but you also have to pay for the exam ... Do you have to check the scores of each set of papers? 42. What is the need of performance appeal? 42。

How to prepare for the STEP exam?
AS mentioned above, the difficulty of STEP test is based on A-level mathematics and advanced mathematics of As and A-level, which means it is similar to the topic you are studying at present.
STEP test is to test the depth of your current knowledge and whether you can cope with the study of undergraduate mathematics, so it is more difficult. If you want to get good grades, you need to be well prepared.
The exam will explain the real questions in class, and there will be a comprehensive counseling plan to help students improve their grades quickly and pass the exam smoothly!
