Contraception of college students
Contraceptive pills and condoms are two completely different contraceptive methods. How to choose them, first know each other and then make a judgment.

First, birth control pills.

Contraception belongs to hormonal contraception. By default, the topic here refers to short-acting contraceptives, that is, oral contraceptives, such as Euonymus Mafuron and other drugs. Emergency contraception such as Yuting is beyond our discussion, because the name of emergency contraception tells us that it is a remedial medicine, which is generally not recommended to take, and its effect is not as good as that of condoms.

Oral contraceptives began in the 1960s, which inhibited the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) by substances similar to estrogen and progesterone, thus inhibiting ovulation. Moreover, these two hormones will also affect the structure of the endometrium, making it difficult for fertilized eggs to implant, and at the same time making the cervical mucus thick and sour, and organizing sperm to enter more effectively (Gilman et al., 1985). The unqualified rate of oral contraceptives is 0. 1%.

Oral contraceptives are generally taken regularly for 24 hours. The biggest advantage is that there are no obstacles in the process of sexual life, followed by the functions of relieving dysmenorrhea, shortening menstruation and reducing menstrual flow.

However, the shortcomings are also obvious. The most common side effects of oral contraceptives are "early pregnancy-like reactions", such as nausea and vomiting. Some people feel unstable and prone to depression during taking oral contraceptives.

Second, condoms.

Condom is one of the most common contraceptive methods, which uses physical barriers to prevent sperm and eggs from meeting mechanically. The ideal failure rate is 4%, which is higher than that of oral contraceptives. But condoms are also called condoms, because in addition to contraception, they can also avoid the spread of some sexually transmitted diseases in sexual life, which is more secure than oral condoms.

There are three main materials for condoms: latex, polyurethane and polyisoprene. Latex condom is the most common condom material, while polyurethane and polyisoprene are relatively few. The advantage of latex condoms is good ductility, because the prices of common raw materials are relatively cheap, but the disadvantage is that the condoms made are relatively thick, the thinnest of which can only reach 0.03mm, and some people are allergic to latex. If you want to be thinner, you can choose polyurethane material. The thinnest material can be 0.0 1mm, which is more invisible, but it is easy to break and the price is higher.

The disadvantage of condoms is that there are "obstacles" in the use process, and some people have a bad experience; The ideal failure rate of contraception is slightly higher than that of oral contraceptives; Whether you wear it correctly also affects the contraceptive effect.

The advantages are physical obstacle and little harm to the body; Can stop some sexually transmitted diseases and make sex life safer; Self-lubricating, easy to clean afterwards and so on.

To sum up:

1, no contraceptive method can guarantee 100% contraceptive success;

2. If you want to try oral contraceptives, it is recommended to judge your physical condition first, and then consult a doctor before making a decision;

3. If there are multiple sexual partners, condoms are preferred;

4, to master the correct use of condoms, otherwise the contraceptive effect will be greatly reduced. Similarly, oral contraceptives should be taken in strict accordance with the instructions;

5, emergency contraception (such as Yuting) is not recommended, unless it is urgent, but contraception fails, you have to take it, and it is not said that you can only take it three times. Compared with induced abortion, emergency contraception is more friendly.
