Liaoning University is a provincial comprehensive university with disciplines of literature, history, philosophy, economics, law, science, engineering, management, medicine and art. It is a national key construction institution of "2 1 1 Project" and a world-class discipline construction institution. The school has three campuses, namely Chongshan Campus in Shenyang, Puhe Campus in Shenyang and Vu Thang Campus in Liaoyang.
