Hebei Geo University, referred to as Hebei Dida for short, is a university approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources and the People's Government of Hebei Province. Its predecessor was Hebei Institute of Geology and Shijiazhuang Institute of Economics [1], which was founded in 1953.
The school is located in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. It is the first geological college directly under the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources in New China to set up a major in economic management. In 2000, the school management system was transferred from the Ministry of Land and Resources to the central and local institutions of higher learning, with Hebei Province as the main management. In May, 20 13, the Ministry of Land and Resources and the People's Government of Hebei Province signed the Agreement on the Establishment of Provincial Offices, which became a university established by provincial offices. On March 20 16, with the approval of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Ministry of Education, it was renamed as Hebei Geo University. Li Tingdong, academician of China Academy of Sciences and regional geologist, is honorary president.
