The history of the school can be traced back to the normal school, which was founded by Chen Yu 1903. In April 2004, the former Fuzhou Institute of Education and Fuzhou Normal School were integrated to form a new Fuzhou Institute of Education. 20 13 May, the school was renamed Minjiang Teachers College. April 20 16 Fuzhou Industrial School and Fuzhou Art School were placed under the management of Minjiang Teachers College.
