Xiamen University is both a 2 1 1 university and a 985 university. According to official website's inquiry of Xiamen University, Xiamen University has made full use of the geographical advantages of "overseas Chinese, Taiwan, Taiwan, Taiwan and the sea" and highlighted the school-running characteristics of "Strait, Hayes and Ocean", and has successively entered the ranks of national key universities, "2 1 1 project", "985 project" and "double-class" universities. The school has Siming Campus, Zhangzhou Campus, Xiang 'an Campus and Malaysia Campus, with 6 departments, 34 colleges (directly affiliated departments and directly affiliated centers) and 17 research institutes, forming 12 discipline categories, covering philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine and management. In 2022, the school was selected into the second round of "double-first-class" construction colleges and universities announced by the state, and six disciplines including chemistry, biology, marine science, ecology, statistics and education were selected into the second round of "double-first-class" construction disciplines list. In the new round of national discipline evaluation, the number of peak disciplines and dominant disciplines has doubled and achieved the best results in history.
