Adjustment of listening test questions in Band 1 and Band 6;
1, cancel the short conversation
2. Cancel the dictation of the paper
3. The listening text is adjusted to 2 (original 3).
4. New lectures/speeches (3 articles)
Second, the change:
The listening comprehension of short passages has been reduced from 3 to 2.
Three lectures and speeches have been added, which are similar to those in TOEFL.
Each lecture is about 350-450 words.
Among the sample questions given in CET-4 and CET-6, there are three lectures/speeches all from TOEFL.
Third, difficulties:
First of all, in terms of length, the newly added lecture section is about 350-450 words, which is greatly improved compared with the short section (about 250 words). It is not easy for students to grasp the key points in the process of listening to the topic.
Secondly, in terms of content, the topic will no longer be familiar with campus and life, but will be transformed into current social and economic problems or scientific and technological development. In TOEFL, lectures often involve subjects, so the overall vocabulary expression is relatively unfamiliar to students, and the difficulty coefficient is greatly enhanced.
Fourth, the coping methods:
1. Vocabulary accumulation: In addition to the original high-frequency vocabulary of Band 6, students can also start to accumulate and recite high-frequency vocabulary of TOEFL listening.
2. Master the rules of lectures: As a formal article, the contents of lectures/speeches are logically clear. In the process of listening to the questions, students have made clear the logical structure of the content, which is of great help to improve the correct rate.
Usually the opening meeting is background introduction and topic introduction; In terms of form and content, it will start from the current situation, problems faced, solutions and future prospects. Students can improve their grasp of the article by combining examination questions.
3. Start practicing:
Since the new questions are from TOEFL, students can practice from the more basic TOEFL lecture questions and get familiar with the questions. Usually listen to TED lectures and open classes in foreign universities. Pay more attention to social and economic content and accumulation.
