Reference number and parenthesis method

The standard format of reference refers to the format of writing papers citing published documents. According to the types of reference materials, it can be divided into monographs [M], conference proceedings [C], newspaper articles [N], journal articles [J], dissertations [D], reports [R], standards [S], patents [P], proceedings [A] and precipitated documents in magazines. The following are the reference numbers and parenthesis methods I have compiled. Welcome to reading.

It's troublesome to quote references in writing papers. Each magazine requires different document formats, including the method of inserting articles and the format and order arranged at the back of articles.

According to the arrangement order, it can be divided into two types: one is according to the insertion order, and the other is according to the author's name.

If the content of the article is sorted by the author's name, if it needs to be changed, including moving, inserting or deleting, it will have little effect on the final reference ranking, so it is better to change the number.

However, if most domestic magazines and many foreign magazines are sorted in the order of insertion, the work of adding, deleting and reordering references will become cumbersome and error-prone.

Some editors are very strict in this respect, and regard the format of references as an important criterion to measure whether the author is serious or not.

Therefore, reference is a link that we can't ignore when writing a paper.

There is a well-known software, Reference manager, which is specially used to manage referees. The function is very powerful, which can search and manage documents twice, and can also insert references into papers in combination with Word. I believe many experts have used it to solve the problem of inserting references.

But this software is not a free D version. For some people who are not very good at it, it is not easy to develop all the functions of RM.

I don't know RM very well, but I found that simply using the function of inserting endnotes in Word can solve the problem of sorting references in papers sorted by insertion order.

The method is as follows: Take Word2000 as an example.

1. Move the cursor to the position where you want to insert the reference, and then select Insert-Footnote and Endnote.

2. In the dialog box, select the numbering method of endnotes and the position of automatic numbering. It is recommended to select the end of the section.

3. If "automatic numbering" is not followed by Arabic numerals, select "Options" in the lower right corner and select Arabic numerals in the numbering format.

4. After confirmation, insert a superscript "1" here and the cursor will automatically jump to the end of the article, which is a superscript "1". This is where you enter the first reference.

5. Change the format of the superscript "1" at the end of the text to ordinary. Remember to change the format instead of deleting it and re-entering it. Otherwise, the serial number remains unchanged after the reference, and then enter the inserted reference format after it. There seems to be no way to simplify.

6. Double-click "1" in front of the reference to return to the place where the reference was inserted in the article content, and you can continue to write the article.

7. Insert an endnote at the next place where the reference is to be inserted according to the above method again, and a "2" will appear, which has been automatically sorted for you. Continue to enter the reference to be inserted.

8. After quoting all the references, you will find that you can only see a short horizontal line in front of the first reference in the page view. If you refer to a spread, there is still a long horizontal line in the spread, and these lines cannot be selected or deleted.

This is the sign of endnotes, but the format of general scientific papers cannot have such lines and must be deleted.

9. Switch to View-Footnote in the normal view menu. At this point, the edit field of the endnote appears at the bottom.

10. Select "Endnote Delimiter" from the drop-down menu to the right of the endnote. At this time, the short horizontal line appeared. Select and delete it.

1 1. Select Endnote Continuation Delimiter from the drop-down menu. This is a long horizontal line. Select and delete it.

12. Switch back to page view. Reference insertion completed.

At this time, no matter how the article changes the references, it will be automatically arranged in order.

If you delete the following references, they will disappear automatically and there will be no errors.

13, the more references, the greater the advantage of this method.

When I was writing my graduation thesis, I used this method to insert references into chapters. The above is the method that I use endnotes to insert references in Word, so I'll take it out and share it with you. Please don't laugh at the experts.

There is a small problem. If the same reference is cited in two places, endnotes can only be inserted in the first place, but not in two places at the same time.

In this way, the number of references inserted after changing the article will not change automatically.

It is not difficult to solve this problem:

1. Click where you want to insert the note reference.

2. Click Cross Reference on the Insert menu.

3. In the Reference Type box, click Footnotes or Endnotes.

4. Click the comment you want to refer to in the "Which footnote to refer to" or "Which endnote to refer to" box.

5. In the Quoted Content box, click the Footnote Number or Endnote Number option.

Click the Insert button, and then click the Close button.

However, it should be noted that the new number inserted by Word is actually a cross-reference to the original reference mark.

If you add, delete, or move comments, Word will update the cross-reference number when printing the document, or press F9 after selecting the cross-reference number.

If it is not easy to select only the cross-reference number, please select it with the surrounding text and press F9.

Regarding the format of the footnote 123, I would like to share some modifications with you.

1. First, insert endnotes in the normal way.

2.CTRLH calls up the replacement window.

3. Enter f in the previous replacement column. This is the e in footnotes and endnotes.

4. Replace the column with []. Neither the footnotes nor the endnotes here need to be revised.

5. done.

Of course, you can also use the equal sign.

Word endnote insertion reference Friday, May 22nd, 2009 15:52 Reference simpler method Click here.

1. Insert the first reference as an endnote.

Place the cursor in the word document where you want to insert the reference, and then press Insert/Reference/Footnote and Endnote.

A menu appears with the numbering format of "endnotes" and "end of document" as "123".

Press the "Insert" button to insert a superscript "1" there, and the cursor automatically jumps to the last superscript "1" in the document, which is where the first reference is entered.

For reference labels, the number is required to be enclosed in brackets. Please refer to the following links for details. Please note that parentheses are only added where references are cited. There is no need to add brackets in the reference text, because article 10 will be renumbered automatically.

Then input references according to typesetting format requirements.

2. Please refer to 1 1 for the reasons why this step is unnecessary.

At this time, you will find that the serial number "1" in the text is in superscript format, which is what you want.

But the "1" in the endnote is also in superscript format, which is not what you want.

The rest of the formats are not what you want. Don't worry.

Use the mouse to select the leftmost serial number "1" in the endnote, and press the shortcut key "ctrl shift" to make the serial number no longer superscript, or use the right mouse button to pop up a menu to select a font, and remove the "√" before the superscript in the effect bar in the second menu.

Then enter the contents of the reference in the required format.

3. Double-click the number "1" cited in the reference to go to the text of the reference. Similarly, double-click "1" in front of the reference to return to the place where the reference was inserted in the article content, and you can continue writing the article.

4. Insert the endnote at the next place where the reference is to be inserted according to the above method again, and a word "2" will appear, which has been automatically sorted for you, and continue to enter the reference to be inserted.

5. Explain that there is a seemingly hidden box around the serial number, indicating that the endnote inserted into the manuscript is a kind of "domain" and can be ignored.

6. 1 1 This step can be omitted. Our general editing interface is called "page view". After referencing all documents in page view, you will find a short horizontal line in front of the first reference. If an extension is referenced, there is a long horizontal line at the ` position of the extension. These lines are called endnote separator and endnote continuation separator, respectively. They cannot be selected or deleted.

This is the sign of endnotes, but the format of general scientific papers cannot have such lines and must be deleted.

Remove "Endnote Delimiter" and "Endnote Continuation Delimiter": Select "View/Normal" to enter normal view.

Press View/Footnote, and the editing interface is divided into two parts. The edit box below is an endnote edit box.

Select "endnote" drop-down box In the endnote editing box, select "endnote separator" and a horizontal line will appear. Select this horizontal line to delete it, then select "Endnote Continuation Delimiter", and a horizontal line will also appear. This is a long horizontal line that appears when endnotes are paginated.

Press "View/Page" to switch back after closing.

7. Insertion of reference has been completed.

At this time, no matter how the article changes the references, it will be automatically arranged in order.

If you delete the following references, they will disappear automatically and there will be no errors.

The more citations, the greater the advantages of this method.

Pay attention to the method of deleting references. Select the number of the cited document, and click Edit-Clear-Content in the menu to delete the corresponding document in the body of the cited document.

Some netizens also mentioned that "click the digital mark in the text corresponding to the reference to be deleted with the right mouse button, select Edit Citation in the menu, select Delete button in the pop-up menu, and finally click OK".

8. Cross-reference If the same reference is cited in two places, the endnote can only be inserted in the previous citation, and the second citation should be "cross-referenced".

Method Click the second reference position and press Insert/Reference/Cross Reference to open the menu. Select endnote in the reference type, and the reference content is endnote number. At this point, all the endnotes you wrote will appear in the menu. Select the "Insert" button you need to complete the cross-reference, and then press the close menu.

Note: If you later insert a new endnote in the previous document, the number of the following endnote will be automatically updated, but the cross-reference will not be automatically updated.

What should we do? Press ctrl A to select everything, and then press F9 to complete the manual update.

9. Insert multiple references at the same position in the endnotes, such as 1234, and change it to 1-4 without changing the order of the following endnotes.

Methods After inserting four references with endnotes, manually select the quoted 23 format as the hidden text, and then enter "-".

10, don't think it has been done. We are one step away from success.

The format of the paper requires that the reference should be followed by the description, appendix and acknowledgment of the published paper, while the endnote of Word is either at the end of the document or at the end of the chapter, which does not meet our requirements.

This solution seems a bit clumsy.

First, delete all the numbers in the endnote text. We don't need it because it's in the wrong format. Then, select all the endnote text "Insert Bookmark" and add it to the bookmark.

In this way, all the references are collected.

Create a new page titled "Reference" after the text and format it.

Move the cursor to the title, select Insert Reference Cross Reference and Bookmark as the reference type, then insert and click Close.

In this way, a copy of the reference text is made.

Select the newly inserted text, modify the font size according to the format requirements, and automatically number it with the format/item number and number.

The reference text in article 9 is reproduced and followed by endnotes. When you print a document, endnotes are also printed, but these pages are not needed.

Of course, the last few pages cannot be printed by setting the page number range.

Here's another way. If you want to know more, please continue reading.

Select all endnote text points "format font" to "hidden text", select "View/Normal" to enter normal view, and select "View Footnote". At this point, the editing interface is divided into two parts. The edit box below is an endnote edit box. All endnotes appear at the bottom of the window. Select "Endnote Delimiter" in the endnote edit box, and a horizontal line will appear. Select this horizontal line to delete it. Delete the endnote continuation delimiter in the same way.

Press View/Page again to switch back.

Delete headers and footers, including separation lines. Select View Header and Footer to delete the text first, then click the Page Setup button in the header and footer toolbar, and click the layout border in the pop-up dialog box.

The border of the border tab is set to none, the application scope is paragraphs, the border of the page border tab is set to none, and the application scope is this section. Click the header and footer switch in the header and footer toolbar, and switch to the footer to delete the page number.

Select "Tools Options" from the word menu, and in the "Print" tab, confirm that hidden text will not be printed.

Ok, try to print out whether the page where the endnotes are located is white paper and put square brackets around the endnotes. Everyone is familiar with the common search and replacement, but some special characters are rarely used.

How to clear redundant blank lines between paragraphs in batches? We just need to find pp…… ... and replace it with P. ..

The p here is a line break.

Let's talk about how to put square brackets around endnote numbers with special character replacement function.

Many magazines and papers require square brackets for reference numbers, but the default format in word only footnotes/endnotes does not have square brackets.

If you add square brackets in a custom way, the serial number of references will not be adjusted after adjusting the paragraph order, which will be more troublesome.

Let's insert an endnote that defaults to 123. After all the work is done, you can use the special characters of word to replace the endnote number with 123 in square brackets. Of course, you can also use ""instead of it.

The specific operation method is as follows: If endnotes are used, find the endnote mark E and replace them all. If footnotes are used, find the footnote mark F and replace them all. Pay attention to make the "Unlimited Format" button gray when looking for it.
