Wu Ping was born in Huanggang, Hubei. 1972 to 1979 studied in Huanggang middle school. 1September, 979, admitted to the library department of Wuhan University to study. 1983 got a bachelor's degree certificate and stayed in school for editing and publishing in the same year. 1993 was admitted as a doctoral student, and 1996 was awarded a doctorate in modern bibliography. Promoted to associate professor in the same year. 1June, 1998 served as deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office of Wuhan University. From June 2004 to June 2004, he served as the Minister of Education of Wuhan University. He is now the Standing Committee Member and Vice President of the Party Committee of Huazhong Agricultural University. Professor and doctoral supervisor of editing and publishing at Wu Da University. Executive director of the national teaching research association of colleges and universities. Member of the Third Steering Committee of Cultural Quality Education in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education and the Steering Committee of Journalism Teaching. Director of China Book Review Society. In the Department of Publishing, he undertakes undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as library science, principles of editing science and theoretical research of editing. He has published 4 books independently in Heilongjiang Education Press, Shaanxi Economic Press, Fiona Fang Press and Wuhan University Press, with 2 editors and 3 co-editors. He has published more than 90 academic papers on editing and publishing, bibliography, book review, editorial thought research and higher education research in authoritative and core public journals in China. It has undertaken the follow-up research projects of the National Social Science Fund, the National Youth Social Science Fund, the humanities and social sciences project of the Ministry of Education, the key project of education reform in Hubei Province, and the higher education and teaching reform project of the Ministry of Education. He has won the first and second prizes of the National Teaching Achievement Award, the first and second prizes of outstanding teaching achievements in Hubei Province and the special prize of outstanding teaching achievements in Wuhan University. She was once rated as an outstanding young female faculty member in Hubei Province and an outstanding young female faculty member in Wuhan University. He won the first prize in the speech contest of excellent party member, excellent educator and young teacher of Wuhan University, and the excellent undergraduate teaching quality award of Wuhan University. In June 2007, he was elected as the representative of the ninth Party Congress in Hubei Province.
