2. Introduction of Yanshan University
Yanshan University is a national key university jointly established by the People's Government of Hebei Province, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, a national first-class university supported by Hebei Province and a world-class discipline construction university, and a member of Beijing Hi-Tech University Alliance.
The school originated from Harbin Institute of Technology and was founded in 1920. From 65438 to 0958, the heavy machinery and related majors of Harbin Institute of Technology moved to Fulaerji District, Qiqihar City, an important industrial town, and established the Institute of Heavy Machinery of Harbin Institute of Technology. 1960 Independent School, named Northeast Heavy Machinery Institute, became a university directly under the former Ministry of Machinery Industry. 1978 was identified as a national key institution of higher learning. From 1985 to 1997, the whole school moved to Qinhuangdao. 1997 was renamed Yanshan university with the approval of the former state education commission. 1998 was transferred to Hebei Province by the former Ministry of Machinery Industry, which was jointly built by the central and local governments and mainly managed by Hebei Province. In 2000, Hebei Light Industry Management School was merged into Yanshan University.
20 16 As one of the two universities selected by the Ministry of Education, the national certification of engineering specialty of the school was observed and inspected by international experts from washington accord, which supported China to formally join the washington accord International Engineering Education Organization. At present, 10 engineering majors in our school have passed the professional certification of engineering education, which indicates that the quality of talent training of these majors has been internationally recognized and entered the "first phalanx" of global engineering education.
The school covers an area of 4000 mu, with a building area of 654.38+0.06 million square meters. At present, there are 38,000 students in general higher education. There are 3,200 faculty members, including 2,200 full-time teachers, 48 professors (including 234 doctoral supervisors) and 64 associate professors (kloc-0). The school has 1 1 postdoctoral mobile stations, 14 first-class doctoral programs, 1 professional doctoral programs, 30 first-class master programs, 17 professional master programs and 64 undergraduate programs. It has formed a major in engineering, such as literature, science, economics, management and law. It has five national key disciplines, five national defense specialty disciplines and 16 provincial key disciplines, and three disciplines, namely engineering, materials science and chemistry, rank among the top in the world in ESI 1%. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, eight disciplines obtained the evaluation results above Class B, of which Mechanical Engineering was Class A, ranking the top 65,438+00% in China, and Material Science and Engineering was B+, ranking the top 20% in China.
