Li Bai, a poet, was one of the most talented people in ancient China, with nearly 1000 poems. But he's typical? Three no? Personnel, no imperial examination, no official study, no diploma. He is completely self-taught and has increased his knowledge and experience by traveling around the world.
If we must link Li Bai's talent with his current academic qualifications, then the title of Academician of China College of Literature should be more appropriate, which is the highest honor of China intellectuals. Because Li Bai once worked? Hanlin imperial doctor? This is the official position of the Tang Dynasty, equivalent to today's China Academy of Social Sciences.
On the other hand, if Li Bai really entered a private school, took the imperial examination and got a diploma, then we might not see the most famous and greatest romantic poet in this history. His poetry completely goes beyond the scope of textbooks, and even breaks the inherent pattern of poetry creation since the Spring and Autumn Period. They are spontaneous, elegant and imaginative, which makes people enter a dreamlike poetic realm.
Li Bai's creation has never had a fixed format, and his brushwork is diverse and full of ethereal inspiration. At first reading, I don't seem to know what to say, but after reading it several times, I can read from his poems the helplessness of reality, the yearning for beauty, the admiration for human nature and the lashing of ugliness. The name of the poet fairy came from this. If he had taken the road of imperial examination, would there still be a poet and immortal Taibai today?
Then why didn't Li Bai take the imperial examination? Theoretically speaking, taking the imperial examination was the dream of all young people at that time, and Li Bai was no exception. So the only reason why he didn't take the imperial examination was that the court wouldn't let him. The imperial examination in the Tang Dynasty was open, and anyone could take it, from bureaucratic children to children from poor families.
However, at that time, two kinds of people were still prohibited. One kind of person is a businessman. China's feudal society, dominated by agricultural economy, always looked down on businessmen, because they were a group of parasites who made huge profits without paying labor. There is also a class of criminals and their children, and Li Bai is the latter.
Li Bai's father's name is Li Ke, and Li Ke's father was once very close to the prince. Li Bai once wrote a poem called "A Gift to Zhang Xianghe", in which he wrote: My family from Longxi was the commander-in-chief of the Han Dynasty. Merit covers heaven and earth, and fame flies to Qingyun. In other words, Li Bai's ancestral home is Longxi, Gansu, and Li Jiahe's royal family is still close to him.
It's a pity that Li Ke's father finally stood in the wrong team and stood on the side of Prince Li. A coup in 626 AD not only changed the historical trend of the Li and Tang Dynasties, but also changed the fate of Li Bai, who was not born at that time. Li Ke's father took Xiao Li Ke to Broken Leaf City, where Li Bai was born. Since the day Li Bai was born, his political composition has been bad, which is probably one of the main reasons why he can't take the imperial examination like a normal person.
Moreover, Li Bai rarely mentioned his father and seemed unwilling to let people know his past. Until two years ago, Tianbao, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty had an eye for pearls and gave him one? Hanlin imperial doctor? Official position, this official position has the right to work, is a virtual position, will accompany the emperor to study, tell the emperor anecdotes, talk about his own strategy of governing the country, draft letters, that's all. Later, Li Bai was exiled because he took part in the civil strife of the kings of the Tang Dynasty by taking advantage of the An Shi rebellion, and finally died of poverty.
