Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is a national "double-class" construction university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Province, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and state administration of traditional chinese medicine, a key construction university in Jiangsu Province, and a high-level university construction university in Jiangsu Province.

Founded in 1954, the school is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning of traditional Chinese medicine in China, which has gone through such historical periods as Jiangsu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jiangsu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jiangsu New Medical College and Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (after the establishment was restored). 1995, renamed Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. From 2065438 to September 2007, Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was selected as a national "double-class" construction university.

As of February 2023, the school has three campuses: Xianlin, Hanzhongmen and Taizhou. There are 9 colleges and teaching institutions such as the First, Second and Third Clinical Medical Colleges, 15 affiliated hospital, 3 affiliated pharmaceutical companies, and 37 undergraduate majors.
