Guangxi University, referred to as "Xida University" for short, is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a famous university in southern China, with the longest running history, the largest scale and the strongest comprehensive strength in Guangxi, and one of the top 100 universities in China. The school is one of the key universities built by the Ministry of Education and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, one of the national "2 1 1 Project" and the "Comprehensive Strength Improvement Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest", and one of the first batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan", "Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Plan" and "Excellent Agriculture and Forestry Talents Education and Training Plan".
Guangxi University was founded in 1928 by Mr. Ma, an early revolutionary and educator in China, and is known as "Northern Cai and Southern Ma". 1939 Guangxi University was established as a national university.
