Jinshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University is located in the southwest of Shanghai, on the coast of the East China Sea, Jinshan New Town near Hangzhou Bay, adjacent to the northeast of Zhejiang and two super-large chemical bases-Shanghai Petrochemical and Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone. It is a three-level first-class general hospital with complete professional departments and advanced medical equipment, integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, rehabilitation and prevention. It is a civilized unit in Shanghai and a national civilized unit. The hospital was founded in 1975, formerly known as Shanghai Petrochemical General Factory Hospital. 1984 Shanghai Petrochemical General Factory and the former Shanghai First Medical College jointly established the hospital and renamed it Jinshan Hospital affiliated to Shanghai First Medical College. 1985 renamed it Jinshan Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Medical University. 1994 passed the evaluation of national third-class first-class hospitals and was named Shanghai Jinshan Red Cross Hospital by China Red Cross Society. In 2000, due to the merger of Shanghai Medical University and Fudan University, it was renamed Jinshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University.
