What does a private college mean?
Private colleges and universities are institutions of higher learning run by enterprises, institutions, social organizations, other organizations and individual citizens with non-state financial education funds.

There are more than 2,300 full-time colleges and universities in China. According to different standards, it can be divided into the following categories:

According to the level of running a school, it can be divided into undergraduate colleges and vocational colleges.

According to the school system, it can be divided into public colleges, private colleges and independent colleges.

According to the affiliation, it can be divided into subordinate universities, provincial (autonomous regions and municipalities) universities and municipal (state, district) universities.

Whether private colleges are better than public ones;

In fact, the admission scores of many private colleges are not lower than or even higher than those of public colleges. Many public second-year schools have lowered their scores after the merger of the second-and third-year admission batches in Hebei Province because of their poor geographical location or insufficient popularity of their majors.

Is an independent college better than a private one?

Many candidates and parents think that independent colleges have at least the background of public schools, and their teachers and management are better than those run by the people. I used to think so, but now I really can't. Many independent colleges just hang a brand of public colleges, and the teachers are recruited by themselves.

The difference between independent colleges and private colleges;

1, main school

The organizer of independent colleges is the cooperation between ordinary colleges and society, so independent colleges are usually located in the name of universities.

For example, Tan Kah Kee College of Xiamen University and concord college of Fujian Normal University. These colleges may be in the same campus as nominal universities, or they may enjoy and communicate with teachers.

However, independent colleges still carry out relatively independent teaching organization and management, recruit students independently, issue academic certificates independently, conduct financial accounting independently, have independent legal personality, and can bear civil liabilities independently.

Private colleges have their own names, organizations, teachers and campuses, and issue diplomas independently.

2. Level of running a school

An independent college refers to an ordinary college with a bachelor's degree or above running a school in partnership with social organizations or individuals other than state institutions, so an independent college must be an undergraduate, and private colleges have secondary schools.

3. Academic certificate

Graduates from independent colleges and private colleges can obtain diplomas recognized by the state, which can be found on the China Higher Education Student Information Network.

However, the diploma of an independent college is stamped with the seal of a college of a university, while the diploma of the students of the school headquarters is only stamped with the seal of the school name. For example, the diploma of Tan Kah Kee College of Xiamen University bears the seal of Tan Kah Kee College of Xiamen University, which is different from that of Xiamen University.

The diploma of a private college bears the seal of the name of the school.
