Is Chengde High-tech Zone a University Town?
Chengde High-tech Industrial Development Zone is located in Shuangqiao District, Chengde City. It is a provincial high-tech industrial development zone approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province in June, 1992. Chengde High-tech Zone is a newly-built zone in Chengde City, also known as Development Zone. Located in the north of the university town, it belongs to the jurisdiction of the development zone and does not belong to the university town. So Chengde High-tech Zone is not a university town. The preliminary planning area of Chengde High-tech Industrial Development Zone is 6.2 square kilometers. In March 2009, Tangshan Caofeidian Chengde Lingang Industrial Park was formally established.
