Anastasi, Anne (Anastasi, Anne 1908-? The American psychologist Anastasi's name is closely related to the development of differential psychology. Born in new york, USA, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Barnard College and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Columbia University. She was only 265,438+0 years old when she entered school. She had hoped for mathematics, but pillsbury's Outline of Psychology (192 1) inspired her interest in this field. We'll talk about it later. A course of H.L. Hollinghorn and a paper of C. Spearman decided her major direction, and Spearman convinced her that psychology and mathematics could be combined. She studied under Garrett (her thesis consultant), Poffenberger, Walden, Woodworth and visiting professors Eliot and Hull. She was also exposed to R. Kanter's thoughts through her husband J. P. Foley, who majored in psychology at Indiana University. These influences finally strengthened her belief that psychology is an objective science.

Anastasi's main academic thought is: (1) firmly believe in the influence of early experience on the formation and development of wisdom. It is strongly advocated that there should be a plan to focus on improving the environmental conditions of children (especially disadvantaged children) in their early life. (2) Believe in intelligence test. It is believed that some children should not give up intelligence tests because of their low IQ, and it is not the measuring tools but people who cause social discrimination. (3) Put forward the argument between heredity and environment. It is believed that instead of arguing about which factors play a greater role in children's development, it is better to explore the mechanism of how they interact in different ways.

Anastasi has taught at Barnard College, Queens College of City University of new york and Fordham University. His main works are Differential Psychology, Applied Psychology and Psychological Test. Her research center mainly focuses on factor analysis and its characteristics, exam preparation and the interpretation of exam scores. These test scores have special reference value for cultural factors in individual differences and group differences. 1972, Anastasi became the president of the American Psychological Association, the first woman elected to this position in 50 years. Anastasi also holds various honorary academic titles. 198 1 won the Outstanding Science Award of Applied Psychology of American Psychological Association, and 1983 won the Outstanding Contribution Award of American Educational Research Association.
