According to "People's Republic of China (PRC) Higher Education Law" and "Interim Provisions on the Establishment of Ordinary Undergraduate Colleges", the name of Qian Xuesen University of Science and Technology has not passed the examination and approval at all.
Article 29 of China's Higher Education Law stipulates that "the establishment of institutions of higher learning with bachelor degree or above shall be examined and approved by the education administrative department of the State Council". Accordingly, the establishment of undergraduate colleges needs to be approved by the Ministry of Education, and whether this university can finally pass the approval of the Ministry of Education can be said to have great variables. With regard to the names of colleges and universities, the Interim Provisions on the Establishment of Ordinary Undergraduate Schools formulated by the Ministry of Education in 2006 clearly pointed out that the names of colleges and universities should not be prefixed with the words "China", "China" and "country", and should not be named after individuals, and the domain names outside the provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and cities where the schools are located should not be used.
20 12 the Ministry of education issued the "opinions on the establishment of ordinary colleges and universities during the twelfth five-year plan", which reiterated the above requirements again. According to the current education laws and regulations, it is unlikely that the university under construction will be named after Qian Xuesen, regardless of whether the local government has obtained the consent of Qian's family.
