China University of Library Science and Information Science. Its history can be traced back to

Book Department of Wenhua University 1920 founded by Wei Dihua in Wuchang,

Wuchang Wenhua Library Science College was established independently in September 1929 1953 and merged into Wuhan University to become a library science major.

1956 was restructured into the Department of Library Science.

Postgraduates begin to enroll students 1978.

198 1, the library science major became the authorized point of the master of arts degree.

1983, science and technology information specialty became the authorized point of master of science degree.

1On April 7th, 984, Wuhan University established the first school of library and information science in China.

199 1 became the authorized point of doctoral degree in information science, and began to recruit doctoral students in two directions: information science theory and method and modern bibliography.
