The National College Students' Engineering Training Integration Ability Competition is a public welfare college students' scientific and technological innovation competition, which has great influence and is a college students' competition project funded by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. Its purpose is to strengthen the cultivation of students' innovative ability and practical ability, and improve the level of undergraduate education and the quality of personnel training. Approved by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, the organizing committee and expert committee of the National Undergraduate Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability Competition were established to hold this competition. The secretariat of the organizing committee of the contest is located in Dalian University of Technology. Once every two years.

After research by the Organizing Committee and approval by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), it was decided to launch the Third National College Students' Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability Competition.

The National College Students' Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability Competition adheres to the purpose of "serving the cultivation of talents, contributing to the quality of education and leading innovative education". The competition activities are open to all kinds of undergraduate students in colleges and universities across the country, and a three-level competition system is implemented in schools, provinces (or areas jointly established by many provinces) and the whole country.

Winners of provincial or regional competitions are recommended to participate in the national finals with the approval of the provincial or regional education department.
