1June, 1997, the School of Architecture of Tianjin University was established on the basis of the original Department of Architecture. There are three departments of architecture, urban planning and environmental art; Institute of architectural design and theory, architectural history and theory, architectural technology science and urban planning and design.

The college has a strong faculty with 89 faculty members. Among them, there are professors 18, associate professors 24, academicians of China Academy of Sciences 1 person, doctoral supervisors1person, and master supervisors 24. Groups of young teachers who have doctoral degrees or have returned from studying abroad for further study are working in the front line of teaching and scientific research. The professional quality of the whole teaching team is high. Over the years, they have achieved good results in teaching, scientific research and creation, and enjoy a high reputation in the construction industry at home and abroad.

199 1 year, 1994 undergraduate and graduate students majoring in architecture were awarded the first batch of excellent qualification certification for architectural teaching in China. With the approval of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, undergraduate and graduate students of this major can be awarded "Bachelor of Architecture" and "Master of Architecture" degrees respectively. 1998 college passed the excellent qualification certification of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching again. In 2000, the urban planning major of our college also passed the evaluation and certification of the professional steering Committee. 200 1 architectural design and its theory was rated as a national key discipline.
