Hohai University is a national key university with a history of more than 100 years, featuring water conservancy, focusing on engineering and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It is a university that implements the national key construction of 2 1 1 project, the innovation platform of national dominant disciplines, the double-class construction and the approval of the Ministry of Education to set up a graduate school.

Over the past hundred years, the school has grown and developed in the process of harnessing water and rejuvenating the country, and is known as the cradle of cultivating high-level innovative and entrepreneurial talents in water conservancy and an important base for scientific and technological innovation in water conservancy. The school has Xikang Road Campus, Jiangning Campus and Changzhou Campus in Nanjing and Changzhou, covering an area of 2,462 mu.

Hohai University originated from Hohai Engineering College founded by famous patriotic industrialist and educator Zhang Jianyu in modern times 19 15. It is the first institution of higher learning in China to train water conservancy talents, which is the first of its kind in China. Proletarian revolutionaries such as Zhang Wentian and Shen Zemin studied in He Hai and embarked on the revolutionary road from here.
