: 2 Universiade Village Area
The Universiade Village in 2008 is divided into functional areas such as operation area, international area, residential area, traffic area and auxiliary area to meet the functional requirements of FISU for the Universiade Village and meet the needs of volleyball competition and track and field training.
1. Operating area
The operation area is mainly composed of a newly-built 25,000-square-meter administrative security building and a staff canteen transformed from a student canteen. The administrative auxiliary building is located on the right side of the flag-raising square in the Universiade Village, in front of the library of Chengdu University. This is the first stop for the delegation to enter the village. It mainly undertakes the reception, registration, registration, visitors, news and administrative operation of delegations, and provides services such as security, information, energy and catering.
2. International Zone
International Expo will be the biggest highlight of Chengdu Universiade Village, providing rich services such as main information center, delegation service center, business services, leisure and entertainment, large-scale conferences and cultural exchanges.
The flag-raising square is located in the south of the library, with an area of about 12000 square meters and 180 flagpoles on both sides. The opening ceremony of the Universiade Village and the flag-raising ceremony of the delegation will be held here.
The delegation service center is located on the east side of the flag-raising square, with an area of about 15000 square meters. Can provide FISU office, delegation services, event information, meetings, business and other multi-functional comprehensive services. The largest conference room is a lecture hall with 940 seats.
The medical training building is located in the north of the library, covering an area of about 20,000 square meters. During the Games, the hospital affiliated to Chengdu University, which has a history of 100 years, will provide medical care for the Universiade Village. The medical center has 16 departments and a medical team of nearly 200 people.
There is a helipad in the Universiade Village, and emergency medical services will be provided during the Games. After the game, it will be used as a school hospital and clinical teaching practice, which will greatly improve the medical conditions of Chengdu University.
The art center covers an area of about 45,000 square meters and will hold many high-level art performances.
Friendship Forest of Universiade will provide leisure and outdoor activities for athletes.
3. Residential areas
Residential areas mainly provide accommodation and catering services for delegations.
Each building has an elevator and accommodation service hall, with functional rooms such as delegation office, team medical room, storage room, self-service room, fitness room and laundry room.
The community is also equipped with a basketball court, swimming pool and fitness center, a small arena and two track and field facilities.
The slow-moving system of the Universiade is seamlessly connected with Jincheng Greenway and Qinglong Lake, which can provide athletes with a high level of physical recovery guarantee.
4. Traffic area
The traffic area of the Universiade Village is the traffic dispatching center of the Chengdu Universiade.
The transportation center is built in the primary school affiliated to Chengdu University, ensuring that the athletes' village can reach all the competition venues within 60 minutes.
5. Auxiliary area
The newly-built international education exchange center will undertake the task of the auxiliary area of the Universiade Village.
6. Competition training area
The training area consists of gymnasium, track and field and newly-built auxiliary gymnasium, which is responsible for volleyball competition and professional training of track and field athletes.
