(1) Resettlement policy for demobilized conscripts. After discharged from active service, conscripts shall be accepted and placed by the people's government of the original collection place according to the principle of "where they come from and where they go back"; Those who live in rural areas shall be properly arranged by the township (town) people's government for their production and life; Those who live in cities and towns shall be arranged by the people's governments of cities and counties (districts) to work or seek self-employment and choose to seek self-employment. The local people's government shall pay a one-time economic compensation to the self-employed (the amount shall be determined by the localities themselves). Those who have won second-class merit (including second-class merit) or above can arrange work (regardless of rural areas or towns) or choose to seek a self-employment; Those who were formal employees of state organs, people's organizations, enterprises and institutions before joining the army can return to their original units to resume work; Before joining the army, he was a student who didn't graduate from school. If a mental patient suffers from a serious illness or has no immediate family members to take care of him, he shall be accepted and placed by the government of the original collection place and sent to the local mental hospital for demobilized veterans for treatment; If the illness is relatively mild, rehabilitation treatment will be given and regular resettlement living allowance will be given. Suffering from chronic diseases, after being basically cured by military treatment, disability assessment shall be carried out according to the regulations, which shall be accepted by the people's government originally recruited and enjoy considerable pension benefits.

(4) Resettlement policy for demobilized cadres. Demobilized cadres refer to officers and civilian cadres who meet the conditions for retiring from active service stipulated in the Regulations on the Service of Officers in Active Service of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Provisional Regulations on Civilian Cadres, and voluntarily ask for demobilization; Second, individuals who have made serious mistakes and lost the qualifications of cadres.
