I am a graduate student of grade 20 18, majoring in chemical engineering and technology in Yantai University. I am very interested in this major, so I chose to apply for graduate students majoring in chemical engineering when I was preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination. I comprehensively consider applying for the school from my own personal wishes, the professional popularity of the school and the enrollment ratio of the school. Moreover, the author also considers that my ability is limited and I have not made any outstanding achievements in school. I am neither a provincial student nor a student cadre. I didn't take part in any activities at school, and of course my grades were not satisfactory. Besides, English is really my bane. I think there should be many students like me.
First, about school choice and examination form.
1, school introduction
Beijing university of chemical technology is the best chemical engineering university in China, and its chemical engineering specialty is among the best in China.
As the saying goes, "the moon is the best near the water." Beijing is the city with the most developed education and the highest education level in China. Compared with other chemical universities in China, beijing university of chemical technology, located in Beijing, has geographical advantages. Beijing university of chemical technology has a strong training force for graduate students majoring in chemical engineering, attracting a large number of students from all over the country to apply for the exam every year. In beijing university of chemical technology Institute of Chemical Engineering, chemical engineering and technology is one of the postgraduate majors with the strongest teachers and the largest number of students.
2. Examination form
Postgraduate entrance examination is divided into "initial examination" and "second examination". When the school enrolls candidates, it will select the best candidates according to the total scores of the two exams. Among them, the total score of the candidates in the initial test and the single subject score must cross, and the total score of the second test must reach the passing level, otherwise the school will not accept it. The form of the initial examination for postgraduate entrance examination is the national unified examination, and the form of the second examination is the independent proposition of each school; Some specialized courses in the initial examination may also be proposed by each school independently, but the examination time is consistent throughout the country.
3. Test difficulty
Generally speaking, most colleges and universities (except Tsinghua, Peking University and other famous schools): the initial test of postgraduate entrance examination is more difficult than the second test; In the initial examination, the national unified examination subjects are more difficult than those independently proposed by the school. The reason is that the subjects of the national unified examination are put forward by the top proposition experts in China, and the subjects of the school's independent proposition are put forward by the top proposition experts in our school, and the latter's proposition level is usually not as good as the former. Therefore, candidates who take the postgraduate entrance examination will usually encounter such a situation: (1) The initial examination is more difficult than the second examination, because the form of the initial examination is the national unified examination; (2) In the initial examination, the national unified examination subjects such as mathematics, English and politics are more difficult than the specialized courses independently proposed by the school. Of course, because the proposition level of proposition experts in famous universities such as Tsinghua and Peking University is not necessarily lower than the national top proposition experts, it may be very difficult for those schools to make their own propositions for the initial and re-examination of professional courses. The difficulty of beijing university of chemical technology's postgraduate entrance examination basically conforms to the situation of "most schools" mentioned in this section.
Second, compared with most students around me, I prepared for the postgraduate entrance examination late. After returning to school in the summer vacation of junior year, I began to prepare at the end of August and early September. I never thought about postgraduate entrance examination before, but there are quite a lot of postgraduate entrance examinations in our school, so I joined the postgraduate entrance examination army. At that time, besides Math II, English I and Politics, we had to prepare specialized courses. In view of the major I want to apply for, I can choose a professional course before the initial test. I chose physical chemistry and chemical engineering principles. I chose physical chemistry. Because the preparation is late, there are many things to review, and the time is tight, so I plan the next time.
(1) English
As I mentioned earlier, English is my weakness, so no matter how busy I am every day at that time, I will spare some time to learn English. Basically recite English every morning. At first, I recited the words for almost two months. I can hardly remember the words every morning, until one day two months later, I suddenly found that I can hardly remember them (embarrassed). By this time, it was almost the end of 10, and I basically couldn't recite it. What I want to say here is that I used that word to write words. Actually, it was good at first. You will find that you don't want to recite it later, and you will feel tired aesthetically. At this time, you can use some words to endorse. Later, I used it and thought it was good. I recommend you to try it. Of course, during this period, reading comprehension is essential. I usually give myself two books in my plan every day. I use Zhang Jian's Yellow Book, which contains the translation and detailed explanation of the answers and the analysis of some long and difficult sentences. Of course, basically all the materials contain these, and you can buy them according to your own wishes and needs.
I think reading can get twice the result with half the effort. Everyone must keep reading. Learning English well is a long-term thing and the result of accumulation, which can't be completed in one day. Moreover, English level is an important indicator of whether they take the postgraduate entrance examination or look for a job. When I first started reading, I could make four mistakes in a five-question article. I was quite calm in the early stage. After all, I am a British scum. But it's almost 1 1 month, and the accuracy of my problem solving has not improved. Of course, sometimes I just make one or two mistakes, but to be honest, I don't understand (embarrassed again). I had a mental breakdown, but there was no better way to improve my English. I don't even want to learn English. In my eyes, I thought specialized courses and advanced math topics were much cuter than English, but I'm glad I persisted. At that time, after the English test, I found that the accuracy of reading comprehension was ok, and basically every mistake was controlled within two.
English composition, I basically bought a composition material to recite, anyway, I didn't remember much about the final exam. But I think I can try to write more and practice more things by myself. With more contact, you will naturally become familiar with its routines. English is basically three parts: words, reading comprehension and composition. Of course, you can also classify them according to your own preferences, and then carry out targeted exercises respectively. I think this is a more effective way for me.
② Mathematics
In the distribution of study time, advanced mathematics and physical chemistry account for a long time. After all, the two courses add up to 60% of the total score. I basically take math in the morning and specialized courses in the afternoon. At that time, I did Li Yongle's review book again, with 660 questions and Tang Jiafeng's 1800 questions and Zhang Yu's 1000 questions. Generally speaking, Tang Jiafeng's 1800 question is easier, while Zhang Yu's 1000 question is slightly more difficult. In fact, there is only one kind, and there are not many questions, but the understanding of various topics and the mastery of problem-solving methods. The later period is mainly about the study of real questions. The real questions in previous years are very representative. When doing real questions, everyone must repeatedly scrutinize and try to draw inferences from others, so as to truly grasp the real questions.
(3) Specialized courses
In addition, talk about the review of physical chemistry in professional courses. Personally, I like this course very much, and the science is not bad, so I went smoothly in the review. 97 1 chemical engineering principles, fill-in-the-blank questions, multiple-choice questions, short-answer questions and analysis questions, calculation questions. You can start learning in July, and the principle of chemical engineering is easy to master. Reviewing the principles of chemical engineering early is to make time for mathematics. In this way, you can get more points in math, and you should have notes in your undergraduate course. There is no need to change notebooks. If you don't have PPT teaching, you can go directly to Bali, but I have that kind of professional teaching PPT, and I can't give it to you now.
The hydrodynamics and statics equations, the installation height and cavitation allowance of centrifugal pump, Stokes' law and the residence time of settling chamber are emphatically reviewed. Absorption, rectification and filtration rate. Calculation problems account for almost 60% of the content. But every part is important and not difficult. I hope you can get higher scores. Principles of Chemical Engineering Reference Book (2nd Edition), edited by Xia Qing, Tianjin University Press. Principles of Chemical Engineering (3rd Edition), Chai, Higher Education Press. There are four books in all, but there are a few minor problems. I can't find the second edition, so I will use the third edition.
(4) Politics
Finally, talk about politics. You don't need to prepare this too early, because you can't remember it after you prepare it. At that time, I directly refined according to Xiao Xiurong's knowledge points, and then I did the 1000 question. What I want to emphasize here is that 1000 is very important! I especially regret that I didn't do 1000 well at that time. I was too impetuous. You know, the multiple-choice questions of postgraduate politics account for half of the total score. I roughly estimated that I got about 30 points in the multiple-choice question at that time. I have a friend who carefully brushed the question 1000 twice and got 20 points in the political course alone. You can imagine the importance of multiple-choice questions. Moreover, the knowledge points are trivial, and brushing multiple-choice questions several times is helpful for us to remember the knowledge points.
In addition, some online postgraduate experiences always mention how hard they study and how long they have to review every day, and some even exaggerate that they study more than 12 hours every day, which brings great psychological pressure to postgraduate students. In fact, for different students, how long should the daily study time be? This problem should be analyzed in detail from person to person. Some people are efficient, and they may concentrate on learning something that their classmates can't figure out in an hour or two. There is no need to lengthen the study time desperately and increase the sense of fatigue. Some people need enough sleep to ensure their mental state during the day, which is naturally not suitable for studying for so long every day.
Take myself as an example. At that time, I just promised to complete the review plan every day, because time was tight and the task was heavy. Basically, every day from 8 am to noon 12, from 2 pm to 6 pm, and from 7 pm to 10, I will give you a reference. Excessive extension of study time can't achieve the expected effect.
Third, the final recommendations
1. Never be superstitious about online classes. A man can lead a horse to the water but he cannot make him drink.
2. Pay attention to memorizing words and composition templates, especially for students with poor English.
It is best to study in the library and study room, which has a learning atmosphere. Even if you want to play, you will give up the idea of playing when you see that everyone is working hard.
Be sure to keep healthy and never get sick. Health is the capital of revolution.
Don't deceive yourself, pretend to work hard and move yourself.
6. Make a daily plan, arrange today and make effective use of every minute.
7. When you really can't learn, you can go for a walk in the playground or have a delicious meal. Adjust your state, but also learn to reward yourself and keep a good attitude.
8. The time schedule must be reasonable, and people's energy is limited. We should allocate the most concentrated energy in a day to the most important subjects to ensure efficient study.
Fourth, about the preparation for the second interview.
After the preliminary test results are announced, everyone will choose whether to prepare for the second test or transfer to other institutions according to the ranking. The admission rate of Anda University is still quite high. If 25 people sign up, you are ranked 20th. My suggestion is that you must carefully prepare for the second interview, because everyone who is worse than you has given up. If you give up, you will lose a chance to enter Amway. The second interview time is generally arranged in late March or early April, and the review time is generally three months. What we need to do during this period of time is to find a second-round exam course in official website, where we apply for the school. If there is a bibliography, it will be given directly. If not, you have to find it yourself. We can ask our brothers and sisters.
The second interview is divided into written test and interview, with written test 100-60. The difficulty of the proposition belongs to the middle and upper level, but many teachers will put as much water as possible when correcting the test paper so that most candidates can pass.
It is normal for my college to have a second interview. In addition to the written test, the interview will be graded by the teacher. During the interview, students are required to introduce themselves in English, and then give their achievements during the undergraduate period (if there are honorary certificates with high gold content, such as national scholarships, three good students, etc.). You must bring them to get the teacher's favor), and then you will answer two professional questions. After completion, wait 1-2 days, and the final admission result will be announced.
Fifth, finally, don't simply copy a senior's postgraduate entrance examination experience. Everyone has a different understanding of the postgraduate entrance examination. If you follow the same path as your predecessors, you will distort your understanding of the postgraduate entrance examination and regard it as a task or suffering. What we have to do is to look at the whole process of review for postgraduate entrance examination in an all-round way, and we can read more relevant review experiences. First of all, we should start with the same characteristics of different experiences and combine some of our previous review experiences to slowly explore a set of review methods suitable for us. I hope everyone can get a satisfactory result on the road of postgraduate entrance examination.
What I want to send my brothers and sisters here is that since I have chosen a distant place, I only care about difficulties and hardships. No one is casually successful, and don't envy others. Find the direction you want to go and work hard for it. Be sure to be down-to-earth and see your own strength. Stick to the end. Success must belong to you. Come on, kid, Ollie!
