Wuxi Branch of Southeast University was founded in April 1988, and Southeast University was founded in May 1952, with the former Institute of Technology of Nanjing University as the main body, merged into relevant departments of Fudan University, Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University and Jinling University, and established Nanjing Institute of Technology as the main body in the original site of Central University. In May, 1988, the school was renamed Southeast University.

3. Professional construction is different. Wuxi Branch of Southeast University is a national demonstrative microelectronics college in Wuxi, relying on its three national "first-class disciplines". There are three undergraduate majors (information engineering, electronic science and technology, Internet of Things engineering), 1 electronic information graduate major (12 research direction), 1 micro-electronics and solid-state electronics, electronic science and technology (integrated circuit design) doctoral major.
Southeast University covers philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, medicine, management, art and other disciplines. There are 34 departments, 84 undergraduate majors, 34 first-level discipline authorization points for doctoral degrees and 48 first-level discipline authorization points for master's degrees.
