2. Not upgraded to 2 1 1 due to lack of strength. Even in Hunan, it ranks 2 1 1 behind several universities that have been upgraded to undergraduate courses.

The designation of key universities has been for Chairman Mao. Whether it can be upgraded in the future depends mainly on the will and investment of the central government. It is not difficult for the central authorities to promote themselves. Just merge or expand with nearby universities. Hunan University is working hard on its own, and so is Xiangtan government and even Hunan government. However, it seems that the central authorities have not had such a will, at least in recent years.
