The Process and Requirements of Xiangtan University's Changing Major
Students applying for changing their major should meet the following basic requirements:

1, the average GPA of compulsory courses ranks in the top 50% of the class;

2. The score of CET-4 is 425 or above, or the score of freshmen applying for major in the first semester English final exam is 80 or above;

3. The style of study is correct and there is no violation of laws and regulations;

4, due to physical reasons, it is really not suitable to continue to study this major, and there are relevant hospital certificates, the above requirements can be appropriately relaxed;

5. Those who change their major within the department may be appropriately relaxed according to the actual situation.

Application for major change (including inter-school major change and intra-school major change): Applicants should submit the Pre-examination Form for Students' Major Change in School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of Xiangtan University (Annex I) and the Application Form for Students' Major Change in Xiangtan University (Annex II) to the Student Affairs Office of our college (Physics Building 10 1). Before submitting the materials, it is necessary to sign the opinions of parents, class teachers and departments in the college pre-examination form. The submission time of materials will be notified separately according to the actual situation of each semester.

The college will review and summarize the application materials of relevant students, and hold a college meeting before Tuesday at the beginning of each semester to discuss and approve the list of students who transfer to major. Report to the school. After examination, if there is no objection, the college will submit the list of students who agree to change their majors and materials to the academic affairs office of the school before the start of next semester (Friday).
