There are 232 faculty members, including teachers 158, including 78 professors and 66 associate professors. Among the professors, China Academy of Engineering 1 person, China Academy of Sciences 1 person.

The college offers four undergraduate majors: agricultural water conservancy engineering, water conservancy and hydropower engineering, port waterway and coastal engineering, hydrology and water resources engineering; There are two doctoral degree authorization points for first-class disciplines such as hydraulic engineering, control science and engineering, two doctoral degree authorization points for fluid mechanics 1 discipline, and two doctoral degree authorization points for energy and environmental protection; In addition, there are two second-level master's degree authorization points for materials science and environmental engineering, and two professional master's degree authorization points for water conservancy engineering and engineering management; Relying on the postdoctoral mobile station of water conservancy engineering, a complete talent training system with the first-level discipline of water conservancy engineering as the main body has been formed. In 2007, the discipline of water conservancy engineering was rated as a national key first-class discipline, and in 20 17, the discipline group of water conservancy and civil mining engineering was selected as a "double first-class" construction discipline.

Since the establishment of 1952, the college has trained more than 40,000 undergraduates, postgraduates and other graduates, including more than 300 international students. Nine teachers and alumni were elected academicians of China Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Engineering. Graduates are widely distributed in water conservancy, hydropower, transportation, municipal administration and other industries, as well as party and government organs, universities and research institutes, and have become the backbone forces to promote industry construction and social development.
