The predecessor of the Department of International Trade and Economics of Xiamen University, the Department of International Trade of Xiamen University, was established in 1947, and the Department of World Economics of the Department of Economics was established in 198 1, both of which were the earliest or earlier teaching and research units of international economic and trade theory and application in China. 1955 the school of finance and economics of Xiamen university was changed to the department of economics, and the department of trade was changed to the trade and economics major under the department of economics; 65438-0959, closing the economic and trade major in the adjustment of majors in colleges and universities nationwide; 65438-0976, with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Fujian Foreign Trade Bureau, the International Trade Department reopened. In 2004, the president's office meeting decided to merge the Department of International Trade and the Department of World Economics to form the Department of International Economics and Trade of Xiamen University.
