Jiangsu University is located in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. Approved by the Ministry of Education in August, 20001year, the former Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Zhenjiang Medical College and Zhenjiang Normal College merged to form a comprehensive research university featuring engineering, which was established by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The history of the school can be traced back to 1902, when Sanjiang Normal School was founded by Liu Kunyi, Zhang Zhidong and Wei Guangtao. 1978 was identified by the State Council as one of the 88 key universities in China, and in 198 1, it became the first batch of universities in China with the right to award doctoral and master's degrees. The school is also one of the 74 "featured key projects" universities in China, and one of the first 6 1 "excellent engineer education and training plan" universities in China.
