Sichuan Normal University is a key university in Sichuan Province, the first batch of universities in China to implement the "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest", and a national model school to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education. It is the earliest university in Sichuan Province that holds undergraduate normal education and has the longest running history among normal universities. The school is located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, and has two campuses: Lion Mountain Campus and Jackie Chan Campus.

In 2020, the school established Sichuan Rural Revitalization College (Headquarters), and successively established Sichuan Rural Revitalization College (branches) in Yilong County, Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, Cangxi County, Dachuan District, Bazhong City, Enyang District, Puge County, Litang County, Liangshan Prefecture, Mianzhu City, Suining City, Yuechi County, nanbu county and other areas to help get rid of poverty accurately and revitalize development.

Extensive foreign exchange:

The school has established two Confucius Institutes in cooperation with Yonsei University in Korea and Karachi University in Pakistan, and established Confucius Institutes in cooperation with Pedro Middle School in Pakistan, and is a member of the Chinese Language Alliance.

There is a National Institute of Global Governance and Regional Studies, which consists of Southeast Asia Research Center, Japan Research Center, Korea Research Center, South Asia Research Center, Thailand Research Center and Pakistan Research Center. Co-organized "Chengdu Sejong School" with Sejong School Headquarters in Korea.
