The College of Life Sciences of Anhui University was founded in 1998, and its predecessor was Biology Department, which was one of the five earliest departments established when Anhui University was rebuilt in 1958. The college now has four undergraduate majors: biological science, biotechnology, bioengineering and biostatistics, and has the right to award doctoral degrees in ecology, master's degrees in biology and professional degrees in bioengineering. The College has established several provincial key laboratories and centers, and has successively carried out academic exchanges and teaching cooperation with universities or research institutions in the United States, France, Singapore and other countries. He presided over the annual academic conference in chinese society for microbiology, and invited 1 Nobel Prize winners in physiology or medicine, more than 20 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and many well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad for academic exchanges. Taking serving local economic construction and social development as its basic task, the College has successively signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with many enterprises such as anke biotechnology Science and Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., and established student employment trainee bases in many enterprises such as Golden Seed Group.
