Personal profile of Wan Zhexian
Wan Zhexian (1927), a native of Zichuan, Shandong Province, was born in Mianyang, Hubei Province (later called Xiantao), a mathematician in China and an academician of China Academy of Sciences. 1948, graduated from the Department of Mathematics of Tsinghua University with a bachelor of science degree. He has been a researcher at the Institute of Systems Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences, an adjunct professor at Tsinghua University, Shandong University and Northwest Institute of Telecommunications Engineering, and a director of chinese mathematical society. Engaged in the research of typical groups, and its research results have reached the international level. He is also engaged in the research of Lie algebra and finite geometry, and has also made achievements in applying algebraic theory to the research of coding. Co-authored Typical Groups with China. He is the author of finite geometry and incomplete block design, nonlinear shift register, Lie algebra, algebra and coding. Editor-in-Chief of Algebra Series, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Finite Fields and Their Applications, and Combinatorial Yearbook. Editorial Board of Journal of Combinatorial Information and Systems Science. Research interests: typical groups, matrix geometry, algebraic combinatorics, algebraic coding, finite geometry and its applications. Published more than 30 papers and 8 books/kloc-0.
