The Agricultural College of Guangxi University was founded in 1932, which was one of the three colleges under Guangxi University at that time. The first dean was Dr. Pan Zhuqi, vice president. 1952 Agricultural College was established independently, and Guangxi Agricultural College was established, with Dr. Sun and Professor as the dean. 1997, when the former Guangxi University and the former Guangxi Agricultural University merged to form a new Guangxi University, the Agricultural College of Guangxi University was established by the departments of agronomy, horticulture and plant protection of the former Guangxi Agricultural University.

The college has five departments, namely, Department of Plant Science, Department of Agronomy, Department of Plant Protection, Department of Horticulture, and Department of Agricultural Resources and Environmental Science.
