College graduates study liberal arts and science courses, as well as more specialized courses. Kyoto University also has a 18 graduate school, including a school of Asian and African studies and a school of management. Graduate schools offer master's, doctoral and professional degree courses.
The academic calendar of this university is in terms of semesters, and the main teaching language is Japanese.
