How long does the university keep its student status by joining the army?
Their school status can be retained for two years after retiring from active service.

After college soldiers retire, their school status is generally retained for two years. No matter students or freshmen, the time for a general school to keep a student's status is the second year after a conscript serves, that is, your conscript will continue to go to school in the same year after he leaves the army, or continue to go to school in the second year (mainly considering college soldiers who joined the army in September and those who joined the army in the winter of 65438+February). Now, soldiers who joined the army in March can wait until beginning of autumn to continue their studies.

But there is a different situation, mainly divided into two kinds:

First, some schools, mainly students who have finished their sophomore year in colleges and universities, regard the time of enlistment as internship experience, that is to say, one year of enlistment will not affect your college diploma, which will help you continue to take military school exams and transfer to non-commissioned officers after enlistment.

Second, some schools make it clear that students can keep their school status for a long time when they join the army, which is also a consideration to solve the worries of college students when they join the army.

The way to retain student status is as follows:

1, individuals fill in the application form.

Recruited freshmen retain admission qualifications: college admission notice, ID card (hukou book), high school diploma, college admission notice, ID card (hukou book) and high school diploma go to the conscription office of the people's government of the county (city, district) where they join the army, receive and fill out the Application Form for Retaining Admission Qualification in duplicate.

If the freshmen are unable to go to handle it for some reason, they can entrust others to handle it on their behalf with the above-mentioned certification materials and the client's ID card. Students who apply for retaining their school status need to get the application form from the Academic Affairs Office.

2. The recruitment office seals and confirms, and sends the form to the school.

In principle, the county-level conscription office shall, within 5 days after the handover of all recruits in the region, summarize the Application Form for Recruiting Freshmen in Colleges and Universities and affix the seal of the county-level conscription office; Send the application form for retaining admission qualification together with a copy of the notice of enlistment to the relevant college admissions department in the form of an official letter.

3. Register as a student and keep the student status.

Colleges and universities shall, after receiving a copy of the application form and the notice of enlistment, examine their admission qualifications according to law and go through the formalities of retaining their admission qualifications. Colleges and universities mark "joining the army" in students' personal information, affix the official seal on the application form for retaining admission qualifications, and issue a notice of retaining admission qualifications.

"Application Form for Retaining Admission Qualification" in duplicate, one kept by the school and one submitted to the county recruitment office for the record. The Notice of Retaining Admission Qualification shall be kept by the freshmen or their clients.

Legal basis:

Article 55 of the Military Service Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that students who have been admitted to or are studying in ordinary colleges and universities before enlisting shall retain their admission qualifications or school status during their service, be admitted to school or resume their studies within two years after retiring from active service, and enjoy preferential treatment such as scholarships, grants and tuition reduction and exemption in accordance with relevant state regulations;

After graduation, it is preferred to participate in national defense students, rural grassroots service projects organized by the state, and selection of officers.
