Zhejiang International Studies University (hereinafter referred to as "Zhejiang Foreign Studies University") is a public, provincial and ordinary undergraduate university focusing on foreign languages and literature. The school, formerly known as Zhejiang Education College, was founded in 1955. 1994 started general undergraduate education, and on 20 10 was reformed and renamed with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
The characteristic of the school is to cultivate high-quality applied talents with family feelings and international vision with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and beauty. Enrolment for the whole country 16 provinces (autonomous regions), with 8500 students.

The school attaches great importance to the international promotion of Chinese, and has successively established the Confucius Institute at the National University of Equatorial Guinea and the Confucius Institute in Antigua and Barbuda.
