1. Guangzhou University is a comprehensive university named after Guangzhou, an important national central city. It is a key construction university of high-level universities in Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City. It merged in 2000 and has a tradition of running schools for more than 90 years.

2. The school has two campuses, University Town and Guihuagang, with a total campus area of 1.880 mu. At present, there are 33,833 full-time students, including 2,798 graduate students and 0/22 doctoral students. There are 25 colleges and 85 undergraduate majors, covering 10 disciplines. At present, there are 3 post-doctoral research stations, 3 first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 26 first-class discipline master degree authorization points and 9 professional master degree points. At present, there are 27 14 faculty members, including 1788 teaching and research personnel, accounting for 57.4% of doctors, 1654, 38+0.48 with technical secondary school titles or above, 4 academicians of the two academies and 6 dual-employed academicians.

The school takes "having both ability and political integrity, feelings for home and country, broad vision, love sports, understand art and have strong pioneering ability" as the talent training goal, and integrates ideological and political education and innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of talent training. It has high-level art groups such as Guangzhou Ballet and Guangzhou Song and Dance Troupe, and a number of student associations and cultural brand projects with high scientific and cultural content and strong students' willingness to participate. The school has established educational and scientific research cooperation with more than 200 universities and scientific research institutions in 30 countries or regions, and established the first Sino-French Tourism College in 2002. Established Confucius Institute in cooperation with Padua University in Italy, Wesleyan College in the United States and Mazandaran University in Iran. The school insists on deeply integrating the development of running a school into the process of building a national central city in Guangzhou, and its ability and level of serving economic and social development have been significantly improved.
