Yancheng Institute of Technology is a medium-level university among non-universities. Ranked 30th in Jiangsu Province and 280th in China, it is an institution with relatively high education level in Jiangsu Province.

Yancheng Institute of Technology is a full-time undergraduate college in Jiangsu Province, located in Yancheng, a coastal open city known as the "Oriental Wetland Capital and the Hometown of Crane and Elk".

The school was formed by the merger of Yancheng Vocational and Technical College and Yancheng Vocational College. 1996. Yancheng Institute of Technology was founded in 1958, and 1986 became one of the three national demonstration building materials higher industrial colleges.

Yancheng Vocational College was founded in 1985. In 2000, Yancheng Accounting School, founded in 1964, was merged into Yancheng Institute of Technology.

In 20 18, it was approved as "Master Degree Awarding Unit".
