Wind energy and power engineering specialty

Simply put, the major of wind energy and power engineering is how to convert wind energy into electric energy, which involves many disciplines such as power, machinery, electricity, power electronics, automation and so on. The goal is to train graduates with the basic ability of designing, manufacturing, operating, experimental research and project investment and management of wind turbines and wind farms. Graduates can work in power generation companies, scientific research institutes, wind power equipment manufacturing enterprises, wind farms and other units in wind energy resource measurement, design and manufacture of wind turbines and design of wind farms, as well as technical work in related fields such as power engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Wind power is a small industry, but the specialty is a big industry. Specialized courses are divided into mechanics, machinery, control and other modules, including mechanics, electricity, computer, mechanical design, automatic control theory, material science and other disciplines. This also tells everyone from the side that this major requires very high comprehensive ability of students. But it is also a challenge for those students who have strong self-confidence and like to climb the peak constantly.

In 2006, North China Electric Power University took the lead in setting up the specialty of wind energy and power engineering for the first time in China, enrolling 3 1 undergraduate. In addition, Hohai University, Changsha University of Science and Technology, Lanzhou University of Technology, Inner Mongolia University of Technology, Hebei University of Technology and University of Science and Technology Beijing also offer this major. In addition to setting up wind power specialty, other universities participate in the research of wind power technology in various forms. In 2005, Beijing Jiaotong University listed energy as one of the emerging interdisciplinary subjects. In 2006, Beijing Experimental Station of National Wind Energy Engineering Technology Research Center and New Energy Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University were established. This testing station is the first wind power engineering technology testing station established in China, and it is the first intermediary institution serving domestic and foreign wind power investors and equipment suppliers. In addition, Tsinghua University Institute of Nuclear Energy and New Energy, Shenyang University of Technology Institute of Wind Technology and other wind power research institutions have undertaken many major projects and made many scientific research achievements in the design and manufacture of large-scale wind power generation equipment, forming an important scientific research force in colleges and universities.
