Third, the University of Surrey Organ Chorus Scholarship
St Nicholas Church in guildford is willing to provide scholarships to students every year. There are four scholarships, three chorus scholarships and one organ scholarship. The amount of each scholarship is not less than 750 pounds per year. St Nicholas Church is a warm place suitable for prayer, and has close cooperation with other churches in the town center.
This is a new initiative of the church, and the church is happy to cooperate with the students of the University of Surrey. At present, there is a small choir in the church, hoping to expand it. With the support of scholarship winners, I hope to recruit more members and establish a primary choir with a choir.
The role of scholarship winners is to sing in the morning of Eucharist every Sunday, at evening prayers (which are sung once a month), and occasionally at evening activities on weekdays. At present, the church has a chorus once a week. The chorus starts at 7: 00 pm 15 pm on Friday and lasts for about an hour.
The scholarship is open to organists and singers. The purpose of the scholarship is to support the work of the choir and maintain the standard of church music.
This scholarship is offered to students studying undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses at the University of Surrey. If there are places, students taking a gap year are also welcome. The duration of the scholarship is generally not more than three years, subject to the annual audit. All applicants have to be reviewed by DBS.
