Kaiyuan Campus of Henan University of Science and Technology (new campus) is located in the University Town of Luoyang New District, with Kaiyuan Avenue on the north side; East of Xuefu Street, adjacent to Luoyang Olympic Park; Yingzhou Road is on the west side, adjacent to Luolong Industrial Park in Luoyang High-tech Development Zone; On the south is Guanlin Road. Henan University of Science and Technology was founded in Beijing 1952. It is an excellent university jointly built by the National Defense Science and Technology Bureau and the Henan Provincial People's Government, supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions, and evaluated by the Ministry of Education. It is also one of the three key comprehensive universities in Henan Province.
In 2002, in order to optimize the structural layout of higher education in Henan Province, the Henan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government reported to the Ministry of Education for approval, and Luoyang Institute of Technology, Luoyang Medical College and Luoyang Agricultural College merged to form Henan University of Science and Technology.
