Fudan University Law School has 9 discipline groups including legal theory, legal history, constitutional law and administrative law, criminal law, civil and commercial law, procedural law, economic law, environmental and resource protection law and international law, and 8 academic research centers including civil and commercial law research center, international law research center, rule of law research center, China legal culture research center, judicial research center, comparative law and common law research center, Japan and East Asian countries research center and procedural law research center. In 2003 and 2005, it was approved to set up a doctoral program in international law and civil and commercial law; In 2007, with the approval of the Ministry of Personnel, a postdoctoral research mobile station for the first-class discipline of law was established; In the same year, the discipline of civil and commercial law was included in the key discipline construction plan of Shanghai. Following the the State Council Academic Degrees Committee (2011) No.8 Document "Notice on Printing and Distributing the List of First-level Subjects Authorized by Doctoral and Master's Degrees in 20 10", the doctoral program in the first-level discipline of law approved by our university has been approved for filing.

In addition, Fudan University Intellectual Property Research Center, Fudan University Judicial and Litigation System Research Center, Fudan University Financial Law Research Center, Fudan University Medical Law Research Center and Fudan University Environmental Resources and Energy Law Research Center are under the management of law schools. Since 2000, teachers in our college have undertaken 20 national social science fund projects, more than 30 provincial and ministerial projects such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Justice and Shanghai, published more than 200 monographs and teaching materials, and published more than 800 academic papers in core journals.
