Jilin University is a national key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education, located in Changchun City, Jilin Province. The school was founded in 1946, and 1960 was listed as a national key university.

1984 became one of the first 22 universities to set up graduate schools. 1995 was the first batch of projects approved by the state education commission "2 1 1 project". 200 1, listed as the "985 project" national key construction university, was approved as a school directly managed by the central government in 2004. 20006.000008666007

In 2000, Jilin University, Jilin University of Technology, Bethune Medical University, changchun university of science and technology and Changchun University of Posts and Telecommunications merged to form a new Jilin University. In 2004, the former China People's Liberation Army Quartermaster University was transferred and merged.
