Liu Run East China University of Science and Technology received a bachelor's degree 1988- 1992, a master's degree in physical chemistry from East China University of Science and Technology, a Ph.D. in the Department of Chemistry from the University of Missouri, and a postdoctoral researcher.
East China University of Science and Technology was originally named East China Institute of Chemical Technology. It was jointly established by Jiaotong University, Aurora University, Datong University, Soochow University and the Department of Chemical Engineering of Jiangnan University, with the number 1952. Renamed on 1993. 1956 was designated as one of the first schools in China to recruit graduate students; 1960 was identified as a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education; 1996 became the national "2 1 1 project" key construction university.
