National Independent Colleges Ranking in 2006 (Three Colleges)
On June 27th, 2006, China Alumni Association Network, together with 265438+ Century Talent Newspaper and University Weekly, published the list of national independent colleges in 2006. Huazhong University of Science and Technology Wuchang Branch ranked first, while zhejiang university city college and Wuhan University of Science and Technology Zhongnan Branch ranked second and third. The other top ten universities are Ningbo Institute of Technology of Zhejiang University, Donghu Campus of Wuhan University, Zhuhai Campus of Beijing Normal University, Business School of South-Central University for Nationalities, liren college of yanshan university, Wenhua School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Northeastern University.
"Independent college" refers to the secondary college at the undergraduate level established according to the new mechanism and model. Independent colleges use part of the resources of public parent universities to run schools strictly and independently, which is a beneficial combination of social forces and national higher education resources. Its nature is a school jointly organized by state-owned universities and social forces, operating according to the private mechanism, focusing on cultivating applied talents urgently needed by society, which is a new way to explore for the development of higher education in China.
As of May 2006, there are more than 300 independent colleges in China, and their enrollment accounts for about one-third of the newly-increased undergraduate enrollment. Zhao De, who is in charge of the ranking and director of the operation of China Alumni Association Network, pointed out that from the distribution area of the top 100 universities in the ranking of independent colleges in China in 2006, the scale and advantages of independent colleges in Hubei Province are the most obvious, among which * * * five universities such as Wuchang Branch of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Zhongnan Branch of Wuhan University of Science and Technology and Donghu Branch of Wuhan University entered before/kloc-0, and independent colleges in Zhejiang, Guangdong and other provinces and cities also have strong advantages in running schools.
China Alumni Association Network, as a well-known non-governmental university evaluation and research institution in China, has been conducting the evaluation of China University and the study of outstanding alumni for four consecutive years since 2003. Zhao Dede also introduced that the "2006 China Independent College Ranking" is the third university ranking released after the launch of the 2006 China University Ranking and the 2006 China Private University Ranking. The evaluation index system consists of two first-level indicators, seven second-level indicators and 65,438+05 third-level indicators, which involve school facilities and personnel training. Secondary indicators include teachers, discipline construction, training quantity and quality, facilities and software facilities. The third-level indicators include the fixed assets of the school, the value of teaching instruments and equipment, the construction area and per capita area of teaching and research buildings, the campus area, the library collection and per capita collection, the number of students in school, the national, provincial and ministerial awards received by students, the employment rate of graduates, the total number of full-time teachers and the teacher-student ratio, the number of full-time professors and associate professors and the proportion of teachers.
Three characteristics of independent colleges:
First, the private mechanism is adopted, and the required funds and other related expenses are borne by the partners or raised by the private mechanism. The student charging standard is formulated with reference to the national private college enrollment charging policy; The second is to implement a new school-running model. The key point is to highlight the word "independence". An independent college should have an independent campus and basic school facilities, implement relatively independent teaching organization and management, enroll students independently, issue academic certificates independently, conduct financial accounting independently, have independent legal personality and be able to bear civil liabilities independently; The third is to implement a new management system. The management system and measures of the independent college shall be decided by the applicant and the partner.
