Yangzhou University, referred to as "Yang Da" for short, is located in Yangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is a university jointly established by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Education, a key comprehensive university in Jiangsu Province, a university supported by the construction plan of the top 100 provincial universities in Jiangsu Province, a pilot university for comprehensive reform in Jiangsu Province, and the first batch of doctoral and master's degree awarding units in China. Members of Jiangsu-Macau Portuguese-speaking University Cooperation Alliance and Jiangsu-UK 20+20 High-level University Cooperation Alliance were selected for the national postgraduate project of building high-level universities and the national "key discipline project with characteristics" to build universities.
The predecessor of Yangzhou University was Tongzhou Normal School and Tonghai Agricultural School founded by Zhang Jian, a famous industrialist and educator in modern times 1902. 1992 With the approval of the State Education Commission, Yangzhou University was formed by the merger of Yangzhou Normal College, Jiangsu Agricultural College, Yangzhou Institute of Science and Technology, Yangzhou Medical College, Jiangsu Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Jiangsu Business School.
