Shandong University of Technology, referred to as SDUT, is a university jointly established by the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, Shandong Province and Zibo City. It is a multidisciplinary university in Shandong Province, which focuses on science and engineering. It is one of the first national universities to implement the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan".

20 19 February, China scientific and technological achievements management research association, National Science and Technology Evaluation Center and China Institute of Science and Technology Information released "China scientific and technological achievements transformation 20 18 annual report (institutions of higher learning and research institutes)", and the contract value of scientific and technological achievements transformation in 20 17 ranked first in China universities.

The school is one of the first "first-class disciplines in Shandong Province" and an advanced unit in postgraduate education management and discipline construction in Shandong Province. The discipline layout is mainly science and engineering, covering 9 disciplines including science, engineering, economics, management, law, literature, history, teaching and art.

By March 2020, chemistry and engineering will reach 1% before ESI, with three "first-class disciplines in Shandong Province" and 13 provincial key disciplines. Together with Nanjing Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the dominant discipline of agricultural engineering in Shandong Province was established.
