It originated from Sanjiang Normal School founded by 1902 and experienced the development period of National Central University and Nanjing University. From 65438 to 0958, the Department of Food Industry of Nanjing Institute of Technology moved eastward to Wuxi and established Wuxi Institute of Light Industry. 1995 was renamed Wuxi University of Light Industry. 200 1 Wuxi University of Light Industry, Jiangnan College and Wuxi Institute of Education merged to form Jiangnan University.
